Mentoring

Mentors are positive role models who encourage students to become their best. Research shows that school-based mentoring programs help students reduce school absences, improve their overall academic performance and increase their college participation. Mentoring is a proven strategy to help students build resiliency and other important life skills.

The San Francisco Education Fund partners with the San Francisco Unified School District’s Mentoring for Success Program to engage community volunteers as mentors for public school students. Volunteers work one-on-one with their mentee for one hour per week. Learn more and sign up to volunteer.
