Abby Rovner

Senior Director of Programs & Strategy

Throughout her career, Abby Rovner (she/her) has worked to eliminate racial and income barriers embedded in our education system. A nonprofit leader, bilingual educator and youth development specialist, Abby brings over 20 years of experience collaborating across sectors to build high-impact organizations, joyful programs and thriving communities. She believes in building on young people’s strengths, investing in their wellbeing and nurturing their innate power, curiosity and creativity. As the Founder and former Executive Director of two Bay Area youth organizations-Horizons at San Francisco Friends School and San Francisco’s “I Have a Dream” Foundation, Abby designed, resourced and led K-12 programs from the ground up, expanding their reach and impact over time. During the pandemic, she has supported vaccine rollout as a Field Response Coordinator with California Volunteers and consulted with several schools and youth-serving organizations as they navigated the challenges of COVID-19.She serves as governance committee chair on the Advisory Board of First Exposures, a San Francisco youth arts and mentoring organization.

Abby is thrilled to join forces with the SF Education Fund’s team and partners to support whole child equity and learning for SFUSD students during this critical time. She holds a B.A in the Humanities and a Master’s in Education from Stanford University and finds joy baking, roller skating and running around on the beach with her two fuzzy dogs, Fudgie and Pepper.
